One of the best things about scrapbooking is ~ collecting stash! :p How can a girl resist all the pretty scrapbooking stuff, well, at least I know I can’t! Here’s the latest stuff I bought, from the recently ended Winter CHA collections. 
Ooohh, I’m sooo happy, I hope I have time to scrap tonight.

I’ve almost lost my voice. 
What a terrible feeling. I had to force myself to complete a scrapbooking class sample last night, it’s horrible scrapping when you’re sick and mojoless.
This is soooo exciting. I’m starting to take orders for my cupcakes. If you’d like to get you hands on some yummy cupcakes, look here.
Just got this off an email…
One day, when a seamstress was sewing while sitting close to a river, her
thimble fell into the river. When she cried out, the Lord appeared and
asked, “My dear child, why are you crying?”
The seamstress replied that her thimble had fallen into the water and that
she needed it to help her husband in making a living for their family.
The Lord dipped His hand into the water and pulled up a golden thimble set
with pearls.
“Is this your thimble?” the Lord asked.
The seamstress replied, “No.”
The Lord again dipped into the river. He held out a silver thimble ringed
with sapphires.
“Is this your thimble?” the Lord asked.
Again, the seamstress replied, “No.”
The Lord reached down again and came up with a leather thimble. “Is this
your thimble?” the Lord asked.
The seamstress replied, “Yes.”
The Lord was pleased with the woman’s honesty and gave her all three
thimbles to keep, and the seamstress went home happy.
Some years later, the seamstress was walking with her husband along the
riverbank, and her husband fell into the river and disappeared under the
water.
When she cried out, the Lord again appeared and asked her, “Why are you
crying?”
“Oh Lord, my husband has fallen into the river!”
The Lord went down into the water and came up with George Clooney.
“Is this your husband?” the Lord asked.
“Yes,” cried the seamstress.
The Lord was furious. “You lied! That is an untruth!”
The seamstress replied, “Oh, forgive me, my Lord. It is a misunderstanding.
You see, if I had said ‘no’ to George Clooney, you would have come up with
Brad Pitt. Then if I said ‘no’ to him, you would have come up with my
husband. Had I then said ‘yes,’ you would have given me all three. Lord, I’m
not in the best of health and would not be able to take care of all three
husbands, so THAT’S why I said ‘yes’ to George Clooney.”
And so the Lord let her keep him.
The moral of this story is: Whenever a woman lies, it’s for a good and
honourable reason, and in the best interest of others.
That’s our story, and we’re sticking to it.

I’m having a family dinner tonight to celebrate the 7th day of the Lunar New Year and I was just wondering what the significance was, so I did some research on the Net.
The Lunar New Year celebration lasts for 15 days.
The first day of the Lunar New Year is “the welcoming of the gods of the heavens and earth.”Many people abstain from meat on the first day of the new year because it is believed that this will ensure long and happy lives for them.
On the second day, the Chinese pray to their ancestors as well as to all the gods. They are extra kind to dogs and feed them well as it is believed that the second day is the birthday of all dogs.
The third and fourth days are for the sons-in-laws to pay respect to their parents-in-law.
The fifth day is called Po Woo. On that day people stay home to welcome the God of Wealth. No one visits families and friends on the fifth day because it will bring both parties bad luck.
On the sixth to the 10th day, the Chinese visit their relatives and friends freely. They also visit the temples to pray for good fortune and health.
The seventh day of the New Year is the day for farmers to display their produce. These farmers make a drink from seven types of vegetables to celebrate the occasion. The seventh day is also considered the birthday of human beings. Noodles are eaten to promote longevity and raw fish for success.
On the eighth day the Fujian people have another family reunion dinner, and at midnight they pray to Tian Gong, the God of Heaven.
The ninth day is to make offerings to the Jade Emperor.
The 10th through the 12th are days that friends and relatives should be invited for dinner. After so much rich food, on the 13th day you should have simple rice congee and mustard greens (choi sum) to cleanse the system.
The 14th day should be for preparations to celebrate the Lantern Festival which is to be held on the 15th night.
Now, that’s a whole lot of celebrating!

So Jon and myself managed to get our hands on the 1st 14 episodes of the highly-acclaimed new series Heroes. We had high expectations and were continuosly glued to the TV. I must say that it beats a lot of other drama series hands-down, but after 14 hours, I felt it became kind of draggy and there was still no end in sight. I suppose I was actually expecting it to be a one-story-per-episode thingy. Has anyone watched it yet?
I’m down with the flu bug *again*. I hate being sick. And to make things worse, I’m down for work this Sat and Sun.
